Wanindu Hasaranga’s fifer powers RCB to thumping win over SRH – 21Sports News

Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) leg-spinner Wanindu Hasaranga’s five-wicket haul against Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) guided the Faf du Plessis’ led side to an emphatic 67-run victory in Match 54 of IPL 2022 on Sunday.

With this big win, the Challengers have boosted their chances of qualifying for the play-offs. They now have 14 points in 12 matches, with seven wins and five losses.

Batting first in the day game, RCB batters fired in unison to power their team to an intimidating 192-3 in 20 overs.

Skipper Du Plessis led from the front as he remained unbeaten on 73 (50), while Dinesh Karthik chipped in with 30 not out off just eight balls. Rajat Patidar also produced a fine 48 (38), and Glenn Maxwell hit a 24-ball 33.

For Sunrisers, left-arm spinner Jagadeesha Suchith returned with the best figures (2/30), including the prized wicket of Virat Kohli (0).

Chasing 193 for the win, SRH were bundled out for 125 in 19.2 overs. Apart from Hasaranga’s fifer, Josh Hazlewood picked up two while Maxwell and Harshal Patel took one wicket apiece.
