Lyssna: Union gives notice of Church of Sweden strike
-
Sweden’s largest trade union, Kommunal, is warning of the possibility of strike action by crematoria workers, cemetery caretakers and others as negotiations continue with the Church of Sweden’s employers organisation.
-
Malin Rengård, chair of Kommunal, tells Swedish Radio News that a potential strike at various workplaces belonging to the Church of Sweden, is scheduled for April 27.
-
But if negotiations break down, she says the first step taken by the Union will be to block the hiring of new staff, overtime, and part-time staff working more than the terms of their contracts.
