Tough round of wage negotiations to come

Johan Lindholm, chair of the labor union Byggnads, tells Swedish Radio News that members are frustrated by rising prices.

Lyssna: Tough round of wage negotiations to come

  • Wage negotiations that will be settled in a year may be the toughest in at least 25 years, according to Irene Wennemo, Director General of the Swedish National Mediation Office.

  • This is due to high inflation, which is far above the Central Bank’s goal of two percent, and it’s uncertain when it will fall back down again.

  • The war in Ukraine makes it difficult to predict how the economy will develop, and the labor union Byggnads, for example, says that members are frustrated about rising prices.
