Lyssna: Sweden to expand Offshore wind sector

  • Sweden’s environment minister today put forward plans to accelerate the expansion of offshore windfarms.

  • Annika Strandhäll told a news conference that the government expects offshore wind power to become increasingly important for the country, and wants to plan for new offshore wind farms that will ultimately provide 120 terawatt hours of electricity.

  • “This is about wind power that will be able to be built far out at sea, and which will not be heard or seen from land,” Strandhäll said.
