Lyssna: Sween’s parallel election for school students

  • While attention is focused on the last few days of campaigning ahead of Sunday’s general election, there’s another election taking place in Sweden at the same time – the school election.

  • Around the country, roughly half a million school students have the opportunity to vote for the party they want to see in parliament

  • “The important goal is that students get to try voting and get to talk about politics, but it’s clear that the political parties should also be very interested in the results, because these are tomorrow’s voters,” Lena Nyberg, general director of The Swedish Agency for Youth and Civil Society tells Swedish Radio News.
