A month has passed since Sweden dropped nearly all of its health restrictions for Covid-19 after officials at the time said the virus was entering a new phase.
But in Region Stockholm, Sweden’s most populous, there are still several hundred patients hospitalized with the disease.
Johan Styrud is a surgeon in the region and the chairman of Stockholm’s county chapter of the Swedish Medical Association. He told Swedish Radio’s P4 Stockholm channel that the pandemic hasn’t gone down to the extent officials had hoped for, with about three to four hundred patients hospitalised with Covid in the county.
