Lyssna: Sharp drop in Swedes needing medical attention abroad
-
SOS International, an organisation that helps insurance companies and their clients with healthcare in other countries, reported 17,000 case of Swedes needing help between February 2020 and November 2021.
-
That’s nearly 80 percent less than the same period in 2018-2019, and can be explained by the general drop in international travel.
-
Of the cases, 2,200 were due to Covid-19. The help required has ranged from getting medical advice over the phone to ambulance flights back to Sweden.
