Lyssna: Russian and Belarusian skiers stopped from taking part in Vasaloppet race

  • Skiers from Russia and Belarus will not be allowed to race in this weekend’s traditional Vasaloppet cross-country ski race, due to the ongoing war in Ukraine, organisers say.

  • Vasaloppet is a 90-kilometre long race, and one of Sweden’s most high profile sporting events.

  • Organisers estimate the decision will affect around 90 skiers.
