A total of 2.4 billion bottles and cans were recycled in Sweden in 2021, according to new figures from the company Returpack, and that’s a new record.

The county that recycled the most bottles and cans was Värmland, with one reason being Norwegian tourists in the region, says Katarina Lundell from Returpack.

“They like to buy their beverages in Sweden and they also spend their vacation in Sweden”, Lundell says.
