Global aid organisations who benefit from development assistance from Sweden are said to be greatly concerned about a potential drop in project funding due to the war in Ukraine, Swedish Radio News reports.

Migration Minister Anders Ygeman has said that a significant amount of overseas development assistance should be redirected to finance the reception of Ukrainian refugees in Sweden.

But aid organisations Swedish Radio News has spoken to says this risks creating a shortage of food and clean water in poorer countries and, in the end, may contribute to more refugees.
