NFL free agency 2022: Ravens to bring back fullback Patrick Ricard on three-year deal, per report

The Baltimore Ravens brought back one of the top fullbacks in the game, agreeing to terms with Patrick Ricard to a three-year deal (per ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler). A key blocker for the NFL‘s sixth-ranked offense (378.8 yards per game) and third-best rushing attack (145.8 yards per game), Ricard is coming off his third consecutive Pro Bowl nod with Baltimore.

Ricard, a converted defensive lineman, was a vital part of the Ravens rushing offense that topped 100 rushing yards in 43 consecutive games (2018-2021), tying for the longest streak in league history. He has logged 1,544 offensive snaps and 225 defensive snaps throughout his career, since being an undrafted free agent out of Maine in 2017 (has one career sack and forced fumble).

Ricard has made the Pro Bowl in each of the last three years at fullback, as the Ravens have rushed for 8,846 yards and averaged 5.3 yards per carry — both tops in the NFL. Baltimore is the only team in the league with over 7,500 rushing yards and more than 5.0 yards per carry over the past three years.

The Ravens kept one of the top blockers in the NFL in tow for the next several seasons, ensuring their rushing attack will continue to be a force around the league.
