  • The Moderate Party is suggesting that the state could help pay for household power bills if they hit new heights this winter.

  • The centre-right opposition party’s proposal would see the Swedish state pay for 75 per cent of a household’s electricity costs whenever electricity prices surpass SEK1 per kilowatt hour.

  • Both the Center Party and the ruling Social Democratic Party said they are open to the idea but made no firm promises to support it.
