  • Since Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, public service news programmes aimed at children, such as Swedish Radio’s Juniornyheterna and SVT’s Lilla Aktuellt, have been providing a source of information, as well as support, for kids in Sweden worried about the war.

  • With help from experts and psychologists, Lilla Aktuellt, for example, opened a live chat where they fielded over 60,000 questions from children, ranging from ‘Will the war come to Sweden’, and ‘What is Nato’?

  • Radio Sweden has been speaking to the team at Lilla Aktuellt who also explain how they have also been helping children identify “fake news” on social media.
