  • The government presented a proposal that would make it easier to deport non-citizens who are convicted of crimes in Sweden.

  • Minister for Integration and Migration Anders Ygeman said on Friday that crimes with a punishment of 6 months in prison would now be grounds for removal, rather than the 1 year as is now the case.

  • Ygeman said the nature of the offense and its victim could also make deportations possible, like a violent attack on child.
