Christian Democrat leader Ebba Busch.
The police union and the Justice minister have been among those to criticize the leader of the Christian Democrat Party Ebba Busch after she asked why police didn’t open fire on violent protesters who rioted in several cities over Easter weekend.
Speaking to Swedish Radio’s Saturday Interview program, Busch said the unrest left some 100 police officers injured. But she asked why doesn’t the country instead have “at least 100 injured Islamists, 100 injured criminals, 100 injured rioters?”
Ebba Busch later told SVT News that she felt that she had been misinterpreted and felt that her basic question was merited. And she had brought up the issue to show that it’s inappropriate when police are forced to retreat, not the violent perpetrators.
