Swedish pole vaulter Armand Duplantis set a new world record over the weekend at the World Indoor Athletics Championships in Belgrade.

He had already secured the championship gold at 6.05 metres before setting the bar at 6.20 – managing it on the third attempt.

“It’s been my dream since I was a kid to set a world record on the biggest stage in the world. and that is what this is, so it feels fantastic,” Duplantis told Swedish Radio.
