An icon in India and the most popular footballer in the country, Sunil Chhetri has been at the forefront of success for both club and country and ranks second on this list with 51 goals from 114 games.
The 37-year-old won the ISL title in 2018/19 and would look to add another such honour to his tally next season.
A two-time Golden Boot winner, Ferran Corominas was an inspired signing for FC Goa with the Spaniard scoring 48 goals in the three seasons he played for them.
Despite his excellence in front of goal, the 38-year-old decided against extending his contract with the club, and at the time he left, he was the all-time highest goalscorer in the competitions history.
Roy Krishna has been one of the best foreign players to participate in the ISL as he has been brilliant on the pitch as seen by the number of individual honours he has won so far.
The striker was key to ATK winning the 2019/20 league title while also being the top goalscorer in two editions and also winning the Golden Ball in 2020/21.
Also known as Marcelinho, the Brazilian is capable of playing on either wing or as an attacking midfielder and has starred for the likes of Delhi Dynamos, Pune City, Hyderabad, Odisha, ATK Mohun Bagan and NorthEast United during his time in India.
The 34-year-old who won the Golden Boot award in 2016, was not only a good goalscorer but also played a key role in providing assists for his fellow team-mates.
He will no doubt be a big miss for Indian football.
